CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To assist the Card and Payments Regulatory Senior Manager to manage the risk and reputation of the Bank in terms of card and payments as regulated by the Payments Association of South Africa, Payment Industry Board, VISA, Bankserv and the National Payments System of the South African Reserve Bank.
MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
Transactional Banking Channels:
• Assist in the strategic planning of payment channels.
• Collaborate on justifications for new payment projects focusing on ROI.
• Manage compliance with service providers and regulatory authorities.
• Serve as an escalation point for regulatory issues.
• Approve enhancements to transactional services.
• Conduct market research for product development.
Stakeholder Relationships:
• Build and maintain relationships with service providers and regulators.
• Coordinate meetings with key regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with different business units on payment strategies.
• Be available as an emergency contact.
Compliance:
• Identify and address regulatory violations.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Represent the bank at relevant regulatory meetings.
Risk Management:
• Identify and mitigate risks related to transactional products.
• Support policy and procedure development.
• Respond to audit findings and implement recommendations.
Product Development:
• Innovate and enhance existing banking products.
• Assist in developing product specifications and strategic plans.
• Direct the implementation of new solutions.
Service Excellence:
• Foster a culture of service excellence.
• Measure and review service delivery against SLAs.
• Analyze customer feedback to improve services.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A BCom degree or LLB is required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 years of banking experience on a supervisory level of which at least 3 years must be in
the transactional banking, internet banking and card environment.
• Must have knowledge of E-commerce products.
• Experience in Transactional Banking Regulatory requirements
KNOWLEDGE
• Must completely understand Transactional Banking suite of products
• Understand all components of the system (back end and front end)
• Knowledge of the Banking Systems and Transactional Banking systems
• An understanding and knowledge of a Banks Policies and Procedures with a view to practically
implementing same
• Knowledge of Banking products and services
• Knowledge of the budgetary and financial processes
• Knowledge of company’s Code of Business Conduct
• Sound understanding of Reserve Bank reporting requirements and other statutory reporting
• Sound understanding of regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft products
• Sound industry knowledge
