Credit Controller (17 views)

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Credit Controller to join our team at Pembroke House, our business centre in Cwmbran.

This pivotal role requires strong clerical expertise, excellent communication skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel. You will manage the firm’s client debt collection process, ensure timely payments, and contribute to maintaining healthy cash flow across the business. You’ll also assist with broader administrative duties, supporting the partners and management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow credit control collection processes, ensuring effective chasing and minimising debt ledger ageing.

  • Reconcile client accounts and manage the disengagement process where necessary.

  • Liaise with partners and management to report on outstanding debt and client payment status.

  • Prepare reports and provide analysis to support decision-making.

  • Manage daily clerical tasks including data entry, document management, correspondence, and petty cash.

  • Oversee diary management for three partners and the management team.

  • Produce client correspondence, schedules, and documents to strict deadlines.

  • Utilise IRIS, Excel, and other systems to maintain accurate records and facilitate communication.

  • Support the implementation of office policies and procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Coordinate staff appointments and meetings.

  • Maintain well-organised digital and physical filing systems.

  • Provide professional communication to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

  • Manage consultancy billing processes as required.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a credit control role, with at least two years in a similar position.

  • Strong administrative background, ideally in the accountancy, legal, or banking sector.

  • Advanced Excel skills are essential.

  • Experience using the IRIS suite is highly desirable.

  • Excellent clerical and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of accuracy in data entry and document management.

  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Confident in handling difficult discussions with clients in a professional manner.

  • Proactive and solutions-focused with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
