Head of Agency Development (30 views)

  • The Head of Agency Development will be responsible for leading on Agency business development department.
  • He/she will be responsible for meeting key business metrics of Manpower, Active agents, new business, Annualised Premium Equivalent, (APE),
  • Gross written premiums/Collections and New business profit (NBP) and growing a productive agency force including Agency leaders.
  • As the ideal resource for this role, the successful candidate will be an ardent team player, with excellent people development skills. In addition, he/she will be highly confidential, the go to Person with an analytical mind-set, proactive and self-driven, with ability to develop more agents into leaders to take on the leadership mantle in respective teams.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies for Agency leaders to perform at pace and scale to build sustainable growth within the leadership tiers & build high performing teams that consistently achieve and exceed their set targets in performance contracts.
  • Manage and develop Zonal managers, Agency
  • Development Executives (ADEs) in building high performing agents/leaders and teams.
  • Provide individualized coaching sessions for underperforming ADES to enhance their performance and achieve set targets.
  • Develop a market development plan that includes opening pay points to create sufficient selling avenues for the team.
  • Drive the culture of quality business and improve persistency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to consistently enable agents to surpass their performance targets.
  • Implement a systematic approach to gather and analyze agent feedback through regular surveys to enhance agency operations and agent satisfaction.
  • Achieve a consistent increase in agents’ earnings to exceed the Millionaire Naira threshold.
  • Responsible for overseeing all Branch operations.
  • Lead on the cross-selling opportunities with the Commercial Corporate team.
  • Enforce agency standards and discipline within the entire agency.
  • Conduct regular agency surveys as the voice of agents.
  • Conduct regular market research on what competitors are doing to run their agencies to benchmark and improve our agency operations on a continuous basis.

Educational/Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum of B.Sc. degree in a related course area in a recognized University.
  • M.Sc./MBA in related field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ work experience in life insurance agency distribution management and operations, banking, or any financial services.
  • A professional certificate in Insurance. Associate or Fellow member of relevant professional qualifications, such as Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN); ACII, etc.
  • A good working knowledge of relevant Life Insurance software programs and Microsoft applications such as MS Office, Excel, Word etc.
