Position:
D&H Group LLP is seeking exceptional junior CPA Accountants / CFE Finalists to join our firm.
Our Junior Accountants / CFE Finalists assist partners and managers in providing quality service to meet clients’ goals and understanding their needs efficiently. This role is also a leadership opportunity to support articling students in developing their professional and technical competencies in the office environment and on client sites.
Job Description:
- Conduct compilation, review, and audit engagements
- Prepare financial statements and corresponding notes
- Apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Investigate and correct discrepancies/ irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
- Raise identified technical issues with manager or engagement partner
- Compute taxes owed and prepare personal and corporate tax returns (and other tax compliance slips) ensuring compliance with government standards
- Prepare year-end tax forms (T3s, T4s and T5s)
- Prepare professional correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining findings, facts and highlights resulting from the client engagement
- Respond to client questions and queries
- Update manager or engagement partner on the progress of engagements
- Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
- Develop and maintain relationships with client management
Candidate Requirements:
- Completion of post-secondary program in business, management, accounting or related field
- 3rd year Common Final Examination (CFE) student, or recently qualified CPA
- Extensive experience with private enterprise and high net worth clients
- Proficient with CaseWare, Tax prep T1, T2, T3, Tax Forms, etc., QuickBooks, PM Time Entry, Sage 50, CCH iFirm, Knotia, CRA Represent a Client, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft AVD, MindBridge
- Superior verbal and written communication skills to work in an English environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to teamwork and client service
- Excellent organizational skills
- This is an in-office position.
