Malahide and District Credit union based in Co Dublin offering a wide range of financial services to its’ members.  
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate already in or looking to move into the financial services industry. The successful candidate will be able to enhance their administration/IT skills and gain experience working for a busy credit union offering a range of diverse quality financial services. The successful candidate will be required to have completed or be in the process of completing the APA Lending. The contracted hours for this post are 32 to 35 hours per week, Monday to Saturday. 

 

GENERAL SCOPE OF ROLE: 

The Officer will be accountable to the Manager of the credit union for carrying out a range of administrative and operational activities that contribute to the effective running of the credit union. 

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  

Reporting directly to the Manager, the Officer will provide an efficient service to members as directed by the Manager. 

MAIN DUTIES: 

To process member transactions and standing order payments, daily cash balancing 
Opening new accounts and educate new members on the ethos of the credit union. 
To deal with foreign exchange and Pay Point counter transactions. 
Dealing with filing of correspondence, scanning as required, general office work. 
Dealing with member queries in person and on the phone 
To attend training programmes and workshops as required by the credit union 
Processing loan applications 
Organising and conducting all promotional activities approved by the board and the manager of the credit union 
Providing support for members who have difficulty logging in to our website. This is mainly done by phone, but we do have a number of members who email with issues. 
Maintaining a high standard of work performance, attendance, appearance and punctuality at all times. 
 

Skills Required: 
The successful candidates will have: 

Excellent literacy and numerical ability 
Excellent PC & Keyboard skills including a strong working knowledge of MS Office 
Have ability to work as part of a small team while at the same time demonstrating initiative 
Have strong communication skills and experience of dealing with the public 
Be motivated with the ability to work to deadlines and targets 
Be able to prioritise tasks under pressure
