Member Services Representative

12 month fixed-term contract 

Midleton Credit Union Ltd., serving over 20,000 members in the East Cork area, is recruiting a full-time Member Services Representative (MSR) to join our team. This role is for an initial 12 month fixed-term contract, with the potential for continued employment. 

The role will be based in Midleton, Co. Cork, with occasional travel to our secondary branch in Carrigtwohill. This role requires Saturday work. Midleton Credit Union is closed on Wednesdays. 

As a Member Services Representative you will be responsible for providing a friendly, efficient and accurate service to our members at our busy premises on Midleton’s Main Street, across a wide range of financial transactions and administrative duties.  

Key responsibilities 

Deliver front-line services, including lodgements, withdrawals and loan repayments 
Accurately and diligently handle cash, reconcile balances and account for any shortfall or excess 
Process & assess loan applications, within designated lending limits 
Update member records and maintain database integrity 
Assist members with queries and promote our services 
Open new member accounts 
Perform administrative tasks as required 
Operate within the risk and compliance framework to ensure adherence to all regulatory AML requirements, policies and procedures 
Additional tasks as assigned by the CEO and Assistant Manager 

You must have: 

A friendly demeanour and approachable attitude 
Excellent attention to detail, with strong numerical and communication skills 
An ability to use discretion and sensitivity when dealing with members 
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills 
Proficiency in IT and keyboard skills 
The ability to make decisions and take responsibility 
The capability of working under pressure, while maintaining quality levels 
Advantages, but not essential 

Experience working in a role within a credit union or similar financial institution  
Experience handling cash in a business or retail environment 
A QFA, CUA or similar financial qualification 
Knowledge of the Progress banking system
