Who You Are
As our QBO Controller/Accounting Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial backbone of our growing firm. You’ll collaborate with our senior leadership, team members, ensuring our back office operations are accurate, efficient, and scalable. Our primary focus for this role will be managing Fusion’s internal controller services.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Proficient and confident in QuickBooks Online
- Knowledgeable and experienced in Power BI reporting
- A quick learner and self-starter who takes initiative and ownership
- Exceptionally organized with outstanding time management skills
- Naturally thrives in a remote, work-from-home environment
- Passionate about technology and automation in accounting
- Highly motivated, results-driven, and thrives in fast-paced settings
- A detail-oriented team player with a knack for solving problems
- A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus CA(SA) or similar
- 3 years’ experience QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop
- Knowledge of Power BI reporting
- Any experience with NetSuite would be advantageous but not essential
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including DSUM, DCOUNT, Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, Formulas, Functions, and Macros
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, and NetSuite
- Ability to identify and implement improvements in client accounting processes and systems
What the role entails:
Success in this role means confidently managing both strategic and day-to-day accounting tasks, including:
- Billing – tax hourly and ensuring monthly subscription payments are collected
- Monthly & bi-weekly ACH collections
- Accounts receivable (AR) management – calls and emails
- Expense reporting (quarterly)
- Close the books in both Atax and Pro in QBO monthly
- Monthly financials & KPI reporting
- Annual Financial forecasting & budgeting
- Accounts Receivable (AR) management – calls and emails
- Accounts Payable (AP) bill set up support when applicable
- Support with payroll setup
- 1099s – collection, management, and reporting
- Providing strategic insight on accounting best practices
- Ensuring confidentiality and security of financial information
- Ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
