Senior Tax Associate Job Description:
The Senior Tax Associate position requires a steady, accurate, analytical worker who finds fulfillment in a job well done while working with clients in a courteous, professional manner. Required Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
Must have 3-5 years of recent public accounting experience. Experience in income tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, trusts, estates and non- profits. Assist with tax planning and prepare tax projections. Tax research and decision making. Prepare responses to IRS and state tax notices.
- Bachelor’s Required/Master preferred
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred but not required
- Ability to help with the review of tax returns and also have the ability to prepare more complex tax returns
- Assume responsibility for the completion of tax returns under the supervision of more experienced staff
- Assume responsibility for the supervision of tax return preparation engagements
- Excellent attention to detail with strong interpersonal skills
- Computer knowledge/Lacerte experience a plus
- Outstanding written and communication skills
- Accountable result oriented individual who takes ownership of their work and deadlines
- Interfacing with clients, responding to inquiries
- Effectively working as a member of a team within the office and organization as a whole
- Assisting other staff with accounting and tax-related matters
- 3-5 years of tax accounting experience in income tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and non- profits
- Comprehensive understanding of tax law
- Income tax research experience and skills
