This role is responsible for the production of new business in Commercial Lines Insurance, including participation in developing sales marketing plan. In addition to sales responsibilities, this person works with the Commercial Lines insurance team to ensure excellent customer service and retention. This position will start based in Woburn, eventual location TBD based on candidate & office location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Meets agreed upon objectives for production of new business. Works with Commercial Lines Account Executives and agency staff to provide excellent service and retain risks.
  • Participates in the development of a sales marketing plan. Meets annual sales goal.
  • Actively cross sells and refers prospects to the appropriate business areas.
  • Develops and maintains prospect lists of clients for agency’s targeted businesses. Contacts prospects, schedules appointments and makes sales presentations.
  • Coordinates production efforts with marketing and service personnel.
  • Accurately and thoroughly completes required paperwork before submitting to marketing.
  • Conducts periodic meetings with Account Execs, Operations Manager and marketing to provide updates and account information.
  • Arranges payment terms for accounts in accordance with agency credit and collection policies.
  • Cooperates in gathering information on renewals. Supervises delivery of renewals and/or binders following agency guidelines.
  • Balances productions to achieve desired mix of business. Promotes products of carriers that the firm has identified as important. 
  • Keeps abreast of trends and techniques, and uses agency selling aids to maintain a competitive status for the agency with the industry.
  • Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, training sessions or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques, stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the marketplace and perform to full potential.
  • Maintains all licenses and keeps current all professional designations.
  • Participates in any special projects at management’s request.
  • Demonstrates compliance with banking business laws and regulations as defined in company policies and procedures pertinent to the position.

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; insurance company sponsored courses, workshops, etc.
 
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Insurance license, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
