Education Credit Union is a national industrial credit union based in Dublin City offering a wide range of financial services to its’ members. 
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate already in the financial services industry. The contracted hours for this post are 35 hours per week, working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday in our offices in Dublin City.

Job Summary:

As Administrator, you will manage the small front office team of Clerical Officers and play a crucial role in fostering a culture of exceptional service for our members.  
 
You will have responsibility for the operational aspects of the day-to-day running of the front office to ensure the provision of a quality service to our members.
 
Reporting to the Manager, the Administrator/Loans Officer will be a key member of the Management Team and will promote and contribute to the  development of current  and future services to members.
 
Experience in personal lending is essential for the role. The successful applicant will have a relevant qualification and will have gained significant lending experience working for a credit union, bank or other credit provider.
 
A clear understanding of the ethos and operating principles of credit unions is desirable. 
 

The Administrator/Loan Officer’s main duties / responsibilities will be to:
  • Promote excellent service delivery to Members along with driving growth in applications for membership.
  • Accept and resolve queries from colleagues or members and escalate these to the Management Team when necessary.
  • Ensure Clerical Officers perform their duties to the highest standards and receive adequate and relevant training.
  • Report to the Management Team on daily operational activities.
  • Review and recommend changes to operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate within the policies and limits approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all financial services legislation.
  • Assist in producing the accounts and financial reports for the credit union.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum QFA qualification (or APA Loans designation)
  • A third level qualification is desirable.
  • 3 years or more relevant personal lending experience.
  • Strong credit analysis and credit underwriting experience. 
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work on his / her own initiative to deliver agreed targets.

The position is a Controlled Function for Fitness and Probity under the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 (Sections 20 & 22 – Credit Unions) Regulations 2013.
