We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team working from one of our offices in either Keighley, Skipton, Ilkley or Bingley.

Responsibilities

The key duties of the post are as follows:

General bookkeeping for a portfolio of our clients all using Xero and Dext software:

Duties to include:

  • Processing and automation of invoices, receipts and expenses using Dext software

  • Using Xero to process sales information and reconcile bank accounts

  • Checking receivables and payables to ensure they reflect the business position correctly at any point in time,

  • Reconciling control accounts for net pay, PAYE and VAT

  • Raising client queries and making process improvements to deliver continuous improvements and fantastic client experience

  • Helping clients, demonstrating key values around integrity and empathy

  • Completing VAT returns for review by Client Manager

Experience

  • Bookkeeping experience ideal, however strong administrative background and willingness to learn new skills is most important

  • Strong customer service skills, perhaps backed up by previous training and development

  • Experience within a professional services organisation (accountants, solicitors, estate agents etc) would be a distinct advantage

  • Self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines

  • Good IT skills. Experience in accounting software ideal, however full training can be provided
