Banks and Insurance Jobs is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer – Data Platform (f/m/d) to join our clients team.
Candidates who need to relocate within Germany will be supported.
Core tasks
- Technical Guidance and Best Practices: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of devops engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices in devops, cloud computing, and infrastructure security
- DevOps Practices Implementation: Implement and refine DevOps methodologies to enhance the development lifecycle, focusing on automation, CI/CD of data pipelines and infrastructure
- Security and Compliance: Enforce security best practices and compliance standards to protect data integrity and privacy, aligning with organisational and regulatory requirements
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Design and implement disaster recovery and high availability strategies to ensure data resilience and minimal downtime
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize IaC tools such as Bicep or Azure Resource Manager templates to manage and provision cloud infrastructure in a consistent and repeatable manner
- Cloud Resource Management: Optimise the use of Azure cloud resources to ensure cost-effectiveness, scalability, and high availability of the data platform
- CI/CD Pipeline Deployment: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless and automated build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of data services
- Monitoring and Logging: Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and address system issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of the data platform
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and IT teams to ensure DevOps practices are integrated throughout the data platform strategy
What helps you fulfill this role:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years proven experience in (lateral) leading DevOps teams and developing data platforms
- Azure Expertise: Extensive experience with Azure cloud services and data platform technologies as Databricks, Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory
- CI/CD Mastery: Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
- Containerisation & Orchestration: Knowledge in Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform
- Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with tools like Azure Monitor and ELK stack
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Advanced Technologies: Experience with MLOps and big data technologies
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR)
