We are currently recruiting for a Member Service Officer.  This is a full-time permanent position. The Member Service Officer role provides an excellent opportunity to join a local community credit union and to be a part of a dynamic team working hard to service members. 

The Role 

The Member Service Officer role is on the front line of service provision for the members of the credit union. Service is provided in-person, by phone and by email/online.

 
Reporting to:

Reporting to the Office Supervisor. 

Main Responsibilities 
  • Dealing with members re lodgements, withdrawals, loans, membership and current account opening and closing, etc.
  • Cashing up and balancing at end of day
  • Handling of foreign exchange,
  • Dealing with members queries in-person, on the phone and online
  • Promoting products and services to members
  • Updating of system, member records, keeping notes, etc.
  • Back office support
  • Administrative support
  • Scanning / filing of credit agreements, membership forms, etc.
  • Preparation of reports as required.
Person Requirements 
Experience
  • Experience working in a frontline role within a credit union or financial services institution is highly desired
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role or office administration is highly desired  
Qualifications
  • QFA/APA/CUA or other recognised professional qualification is preferred but training and funding will be provided for a suitable candidate. 
Skills
  • Good Microsoft skills.
  • Good retail financial services or credit union IT system skills.
  • Good English language proficiency.
  • Member focused and service orientated mindset.
  • Enjoys dealing with customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent team player.
Contract Duration 

This is a permanent position.

Working Hours 

Full-time, avg 34.5 hrs per week, across 5 days per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as required (half day).

Location

The role is based on-site at Palmerstown Credit Union, 48 Manor Road, Palmerstown, Dublin 20.
The role does not involve WFH or hybrid working.

Salary & Benefits 

The credit union will offer salary and benefits commensurate with the experience of the candidate. Salary scales with annual increments apply.  The salary range for this role based on an average working week of 34.5 hours is €25,000 to €31,000.
