📝 Before you leave the airport:

  • Double-check address and directions to your accommodation
  • Keep your passport, visa, and important docs in one spot

🏠 At your accommodation:

  • Check Wi-Fi access and speed (especially if you work remotely)
  • Note emergency exits and safety numbers
  • Unpack your essentials and settle in a little

🛂 Legal & admin must-dos:

  • Register your address (if required in your new country)

  • Apply for or activate your residence permit (if needed)

💸 Money & banking:

  • Open a local bank account or activate a global one
  • Withdraw some local currency
  • Set up mobile banking or international transfer tools

🚍 Local life setup:

  • Get a public transport card or bike rental pass
  • Locate your nearest grocery store and pharmacy
  • Learn how emergency services work (just in case)

💻 Work & daily routine:

  • Visit a coworking space or café with good Wi-Fi
  • Test any work tools that may be location-sensitive
  • Add your new timezone to your calendar

🌍 Community & wellness:

  • Join a local Facebook/Meetup/InterNations group
  • Attend at least one local event, class, or meetup
  • Go for a walk and explore your neighborhood
  • Schedule time to rest. You’re adjusting!

  • Journal your thoughts (first impressions are golden)
